False-colour infrared

False-colour infrared is the result of digital processing of several images of the same subject containing information from the infrared region. Similar colour layers in the visible, but with different chemical composition, can appear in the false-colour with well-differentiated colours becoming distinguishable.

The production of such images makes it possible to obtain information about the nature of certain paint materials. The technique is completely harmless to the work as it does not require sampling or contact operations.
